Day 10 – from Landmannalaugar to Holaskogur

Our plan is to go from Landmannalaugar to Gulfoss/Geysir in 2 days. It is about 160km, the first part on gravel (35km) the rest on normal roads. On the map there is only one sleeping accomodation, but on the way will probably see more. But, also bacause of the heavy rain just before arriving at hut from the map, we decided to take the one on the map. So here we are at Holaskogur. A big hut with over 70 beds, big kitchen relaxed banks, free showers 🙂 and even a sauna. But I think for the owner a more important part of the business is the off-road motorbike and quot driving, organised from here.

The road today was quite easy. The 208 was flat or wend down for the biggest part, only an occasional climb. I am not surprised that all bikers approach Landmannalaugar via this site, we did not see any bikers using the F208 and 208 south of Landmannalaugar.
